The European Youth Music Week is an international course for advanced instrumentalists aged 16-26. Founded in 1972 by Jeffery Babb and Dirk Ellee, the course provides an annual week of high quality music making for young people from throughout Europe. Working with two excellent conductors the programme includes a symphony orchestra, wind orchestra, string orchestra and chamber music.
There is also plenty of time off to relax, socialise or play more chamber music. One of the unique features of the course is that there is no fixed seating plan for the orchestra, allowing people to swap between sitting at the front or back of the orchestra or to try out different parts in the wind or violin sections.
