The 2009 EYMW course will be held in very pretty small town of Schlitz in the Hessen region of Germany. It is situated in the setting of the beautifully restored Landesakademie there – an 18th century mansion with the most fabulous facilities.
Ample, purpose-designed rooms will provide opportunities for all the wide range of music making activities for which the course in renowned. A 600 seat main hall will provided the setting for the symphony orchestra, complemented by well over a dozen smaller rooms suitable for sectional rehearsals and the integral chamber music aspect of the week.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the catering is of an extremely high standard.
The partnership of over 40 years between the UK’s NAYO and IAM from Germany has ensured that once again participants from across Europe and beyond can experience an exciting programme, ably directed by conductors of the highest calibre, providing the stimulus for a week’s music making that draws former members back time and time again. The non-competitive nature of the course which sees players rotate seats ensuring that the experience is happy, fulfilling and challenging all at the same time!
